I made this shirt because my shoulder hurt.
I have very flexible shoulders. Every night my arms went over my head, and every morning I woke up sore. I never chose the position. You can't decide your way out of something you do while you're asleep.
So around 2020 I made myself a long-sleeve shirt with a zipper on each sleeve. Zipped, the sleeve is joined to the body of the shirt. Your arm can't go above your shoulder. Everything else still moves — you can roll over, shift, put an arm across your chest. Unzipped, it's a normal shirt.
It worked for me. Now I only wear it when I need it.
Who it's for
People who sleep with their arms up and wake up stiff, sore, or with a numb arm.
That's the whole test. We don't need to know what your doctor called it, or whether you've been. People come to us for all kinds of reasons. Some have a shoulder that doesn't like being raised. Some wake up with a dead arm. Some just want to stop doing the thing they do every night without meaning to.
We're not a medical device. No FDA anything, no clinic behind us, no surgeon's name on the label. It's a simple shirt that does one thing: it keeps your arm from going above your shoulder while you sleep. What that does for you is yours to find out. We hope it helps.
What's new in Version 2
Our first production run taught us a lot. The people who wore those shirts told us what they'd change, and Version 2 is that list, done:
True men's sizing, Small to 2XL. Longer sleeves with thumbholes, so the sleeves stay put. Lighter fabric — 95% cotton, 5% spandex. A stronger, smoother zipper that locks wherever you set it.
Made in Canada, in small runs, and shipped from Kingston, Ontario, to the US and Canada. We're working on producing in the United States too, so US orders don't have to cross a border.
